If I run into any more problems I will update this post. After updated all my drivers, including the sound card, my headset's microphone has been working flawlessly. After running the 1st search it came back with 19 out-of-date drivers, one of which being my sound card. I took that with a grain of salt and downloadedДЄ 3rd party driver updated that has great reviews. UPDATE- After going through the list of devices in 'Device Manager' and trying to update all the devices drivers by right clicking and selecting 'search for update', and all of them saying they were up-to-date.

I am at a complete loss as to how to get this problem fixed, so any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried to update Audio Endpoint drivers, and my sound card (Realtek High Definition Audio) drivers, none of which helped either. I have not been able to find a alternative to Audio Endpoint either. That is the only option I seem to be able to use at the moment as I can not find a way to disable Audio Endpoint and still have any sound in Windows.

This means that I am unable to select the microphone When plugging in the headset the any USB port on my laptop, I get an error saying that 'the device could not be recognized' or 'the last device plugged in has malfunctioned' or something along those lines.

After doing so the microphone on my Turtle Beach PX22 USB Headset has run into some problems that I do not encounter on Windows 8. I recently updated to Windows 8.1 on my Toshiba Satellite L850.
